The Indian institutions are categorized in to government and private institutions. The government institutes are economical, whereas the private will be expensive. Once you shortlist an institution for studies, the cost would vary according to the location and Institute. 


Private institutions will have fees ranging from 1000 USD to 1500 USD yearly for Undergraduate studies.

For Post graduate studies, the fee may range from 2000 USD to 3500 USD yearly.

Application Process for Study Visa in India

Application - Every institute have certain guidelines for International students. Student will submit their academics and work experience documents as per Institution protocols. If the student fulfills the entry requirement he/she’ll get the provisional admission letter.
Processing of applications for research may take about three months. 

Visa - To study in India, every student should be first accepted by an institution for a study program to become eligible for student visa. The student visa will cover your study duration or course duration, or five years of study abroad, whichever is less.

During visa application the student need to keep in mind certain regulations. Students holding other nationalities (other than the country where applying for visa), should submit proof of long-term (at least three years)/ permanent residence in the country (where applying). For citizen of other countries, a reference has to be made to their country of residence for which an additional fee is applicable and will involve extra processing time. Please refrain from making inquiries about the status of application during this time.

Student Accommodation in India

Cost of Living: Living in India is very economical. Living expenses (food and other) in India are about USD 100-150 a month.

Student Hostels (will cost around Rs 4,000- Rs 7,000).
Most of the institutes in India have hostel or dormitory facility for student. They are safe and comfortable living accommodations. 

Apartment on Rent (will cost around Rs 7000- Rs 9000 with food included).
Students can also rent an apartment or house on their own. They will pay a monthly rental fee and 2 – 10 months deposit to be paid in advance depending on the city they go for study. They can also share with other international students.

Service Apartment (will cost around Rs 10,000-15,000)
These apartments are made to have a homely experience. They are readily movable apartments with Air-condition or Non AC furnished flat, equipped kitchen, TV, fridge, washing machine, landline, internet, power back-up, fire safety & security and some even provide you with a locker.
