My house help #Anita dadi. She has been staying with us even before my mother got married. When my father got transfered to Nagpur, Anita dadi was sent with us to take care of the household, with both my parents working and not being at home constantly because of their demanding work schedules, Anita dadi became my constant companion. She played with me, fed me, took care of me, for years I thought that she is my own grandmother, it was only later that I realised that she was a domestic help. Anita dadi's whole family was destroyed when she was very young. There was nobody to support her, make her get married, she turned to petty jobs for survival, after a few jobs, she landed at our house when my own grandmother appointed her as a house help. But she became much more to me and my family. Whenever I had any problem, her name used to strike in my head even before my own mother. Today, I want to thank her for inspiring me and not giving up even when it was it was very easy to do that, her indomitable spirit and invincible courage made her go on even after losing her family and find a family to whom she showed her selfless love and care. She always used to call me 'gudiya' and never by my own name. Her unconditional love and support made me who I am today. Even though we were never connected by blood but the bond of love doesn't need any blood bonds. Today, I want to thank Anita dadi for all that she is and also for all that I am, because she played the role not less than a mother in my life. This post is for all the house helps who in spite of not being related to us by any blood relation makes us their own family and still their selfless love, care and nurturing are often left unappreciated. So on this women's day, I want to take a moment and thank Anita dadi and all the people like her who find a family even outside their family and make it their own."
